Former MP for St. Patrick East dies

Spiceislander.com has learned of the passing of former member of Parliament for St. Patrick’s East in Grenada Mr. Winston (Winty) Frederick.  Mr. Fredericks died last night at the St. George’s General Hospital after a short illness.

Frederick won the St. Patrick’s East seat under the GULP in the 1990 general elections beating the man who later became Prime Minister Tillman Thomas by 97 votes.

Mr. Frederick also served as Deputy Speaker of the Grenada House of Representatives. He migrated to the USA and returned to contest the recent election for the PULP the party he founded.

Frederick is the second former GULP member of parliament for St. Patrick’s East to die this year Mr. Chrysler Thomas who served in 1976 to 1979 died in February.
