St. George’s, September 13 2011 – Several players who formed part of memorable Carenage United football teams of the 1970s and 80s will be in uniform and on the field of play on Saturday, September 17.

They are in a game that will feature Carenage footballers, who are 40 years and older, meeting a younger generation of players from the community. The friendly fete match is scheduled for 4.30 p.m. at Old Trafford.

 It is part of an ongoing series of cricket matches at the refurbished Old Trafford Playing Field, whose upkeep and scheduling of activities are being undertaken by the Carenage Organization for Recreation and Entertainment (CORE).

The next general meeting of CORE is carded for Thursday, September 14, 5 p.m., Community Room, Carenage Sports Complex.
