Elvis Morain appointed Supervisor of Elections

March 14, 2019 – Elvis Morain is Grenada’s new Supervisor of Elections. Prime Minister, Dr. the Right Honourable Keith Mitchell confirmed the appointment of Mr. Morain at the weekly Post Cabinet Press Briefing on Tuesday.


Mr. Morain, who is also the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture and Lands, assumed the role of Supervisor of Elections on March 13, 2019. He replaces Alex Phillip who has retired from the public service.


As Supervisor of Elections, Mr. Morain is responsible for the general supervision of the voter registration process and for the conduct of the election of members of the House of Representatives.


Mr. Morain holds a Master of Science degree in Human Resource Management and Development from the University of Leicester, a Bachelor’s degree in Education Administration from the University of the West Indies and a Certificate in Teacher Education.


His experience includes 30 years in the field of education, with his last two roles being Principal of the J.W. Fletcher Catholic Secondary School and Chief Education Officer. Mr. Morain has also facilitated many leadership and management training events and has also served on many community and national organisations.
