St. George’s, January 8, 2010 (GIS) – The television network of the Government Information Services, Channels 12, is about to start a monthly series of educational programmes.
The series, titled “Global Village Learning,’’ will be showcasing current and historical social, cultural and economic matters, with some specifically on Grenada and Grenadians. Others will be regional and international in scope.
“This series of educational programmes is in keeping with our government’s determination to provide ongoing opportunities to enlighten and enhance learning in our nation,’’ said Senator Arley Gill, Minister of Information. “We are grateful to those who assisted in acquiring the programmes, including our Communications Director, Lincoln Toro Depradine, who was aided by several Grenadians living in New York.’’
“Global Village Learning’’ will premiere on Sunday, January 10, 3 pm, with the showing of “The Great British Black Invasion.’’ It’s a documentary on the early migration of Caribbean and African people to the United Kingdom.
A new program in the series will premiere every second Sunday of each month at 3 pm on GIS TV. It will be rebroadcast on Wednesdays at 10 pm.
