DISTRICT AGRICULTURAL OFFICER TO PARTICIPATE IN REGIONAL TRAINING

Beausejour, Carriacou, January 10th, 2014– District Agricultural Officer in the Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs Edwin Duncan is part of a group of regional agriculturists; that will be participating in a three month course dealing with Applications of Meteorology to Agriculture.

The training is organized by the Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology based in Barbados.

The vulnerability of the region to climate variability and change is of growing concern, therefore the course will provide participants with the tools to make effective decisions and support decision making by regional farmers on issues regarding weather, climate and climate change.

It is the hope of the Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs led by Minister Hon. Elvin Nimrod; that upon completion of the training that Duncan with over 30 years in the agricultural sector; will utilize the lessons learnt to make a positive impact on the farming community here.
