NEW YORK, December 24, 2009 – More than 150 Grenada-bound passengers were given a “Spice Isle” departure from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport early Wednesday morning.
The occasion was Air Jamaica’s Airbus A320 non-stop flight to the Maurice Bishop International Airport, filled with nationals and visitors heading to Grenada for the Christmas holidays.
Consul General Derrick James and officials of Air Jamaica were at hand to wish passengers a safe flight and best wishes for the season.alt
It was Air Jamaica’s final departure to MBIA before Christmas Day and the passengers were eager to board the flight which departed JFK at 1:54 a.m. and arrived in St. George’s at 7:35 a.m. local time.
“We thank you for supporting Air Jamaica over the years and look forward to working with all stakeholders to improve our service to you,” said Ann-Marie Francis, Manager, Community and Special Market Sales, Northeast, USA.
Air Jamaica is celebrating 10 years of service to Grenada and earlier this year marked this milestone with a gate-side ribbon cutting ceremony at JFK Airport.
The airline currently flies between New York and Grenada on Wednesdays and Saturdays
