Caribbean-American Opens New Upscale Nightspot in Brooklyn

Brooklyn’s newest number 1entertainment spot, Total Eclipse Sports Bar & Grill, located at 8920 Avenue D, between Remsen and East 89th Street in Brooklyn, will officially open its doors to the public on Saturday, April 12, 2008, at 10 p.m.

 

To mark the grand opening, an official ribbon cutting ceremony to be attended by community elected and business leaders, will be held at the new upscale establishment. The event will also feature live performances by former soca monarchs – Scholar, Tallpree, and Randy Isaac. DJ music would be provided by Little B and Uprising Sound.

 

According to Aaron Francis, the Grenadian-born proprietor of the new joint, “Total Eclipse is about elevating the standard of service in the nightlife industry; we are all about offering our patrons the best in service and secure fun.”  The ambitious Francis, who also owns two furniture stores in Brooklyn (Long Last Furniture Stores at 1665 Pitkin Avenue and 1179 East New York Avenue), is also a member of the Urban Nightlife Association (UNA). UNA is a Brooklyn-based support organization comprised of small business owners that are concerned about lifting standards and addressing unfair police harassment issues in the nightlife industry.

 

Community officials invited to the event include, Councilman Kendall Stewart, Sen. John Sampson, Sen. Eric Adams, Ms. Yvonne Graham – former Assistant to Brooklyn Borough President, Prof. Sam Taitt, Mr. Edmund Sadio – broker/owner of Century 21 Achievers and Board Member of CACCI, and Ms. Marilyn Silverman – Assistant Director for Marketing of NACC.
