The road map for the removal of Visa restrictions imposed by Canada has been presented to the OECS High Commissioner in Ottawa His Excellency Brendon Browne.
The disclosure was made by the Canadian High Commissioner to Grenada, His Excellency David Marshall who paid a Farewell visit to the Prime Minister Tillman Thomas this morning (Thursday)
Grenada will now review the requirements put forward by the Canadian Authorities, as the next step in the process for the removal of the Visa restrictions. Commissioner David Marshall congratulated Prime Minister Tillman Thomas on his administration’s first anniversary in Office.
Prospects for development in the area of Human Resource, via the CIDA., in the area of vocational and technical training, were also discussed
His Excellency David Marshall confirmed that Canada has allocated 40 million dollars for the promotion of technical and trade skills in the English speaking Caribbean.
Prime Minister Thomas, in response indicated that his Government is a firm believer in the promotion of skills for inclusive growth , and revealed that Government intends to persue training for Grenadians with CIDA in an effort to make full use of the opportunity
High Commisioner Marshal and Prime Minister Thomas explored other investment by Canadians in GRenada
The Canadian High Commissioner also met with Minister for Foreign Affairs Honorable Peter David who Highlighted Tourism Development as a priority, identifying the need for increased airlift out of Canada
Minister David also expressed interest in Grenada participating in the Tulip Festival held annually in Ottawa.
