Calabash Hotel’s commitment to Grenada’s Children’s Homes

Donation to Emergency Shelter for Teenaged Girls 2

As part of our endeavour to look after our island and community, Calabash Hotel has committed its resources to supporting Grenada’s children’s homes.

With a very generous financial donation from our repeat guests, Mr & Mrs Dennison from the UK, Calabash has been able to donate household items to Grenada’s Emergency Shelter for Teenaged Girls. The shelter provides a safe haven and teaches valuable life skills to Grenada’s underprivileged youth.

In addition to the donations to The Emergency Shelter, cheques were also distributed to The Bel Air Home, The Queen Elizabeth Home, The Dorothy Hopkin Home, the Programme for Adolescent Months as well staff training and supplies allocated for the Father Mallaghan’s Home for Boys in Victoria.

Calabash is also very proud to member of Pack for a Purpose. Pack for a Purpose is an initiative that allows visitors to our island to make a lasting and positive impact. Our guests save just a few kilos of space in their luggage to bring supplies for the children’s homes.

Over the past year, Pack for a Purpose has made a priceless impact in the lives of our local children and families. A representative form the Bel Air Home for Children has stated that the initiative is the single most effective and consistent scheme that has worked for the Home.
