Busy round of community engagements for Christmas

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERASt. George’s, December 20, 2012 – Politicians of all stripes are continuing a busy round of engagements in the lead up to Christmas on Tuesday.

The activities include tours of constituencies to meet residents; distribution of food and other items; and the hosting of parties for children.

In the Town of St. George alone, two children’s Christmas parties were held on Wednesday. One was at the LIME Children’s Recreation Ground – The Swing in Tanteen; and the other was in Darbeau. Another two – in Queen’s Park and Sans Souci – have also been done by MP Peter David.

Churches, non-profit groups and non-governmental organizations are also playing their part in bringing Christmas cheer.

A women’s group affiliated to the St. George’s Anglican Church, for example, will be holding its annual dinner and distribution of food hampers for senior citizens on Saturday, December 22, on Market Hill.
