Monday 1st December 2008, St George’s: Work on the Brizan road is progressing smoothly. The Ministry of Works commenced extensive excavation works along that road over the weekend to avoid further slippage in the area.
The work includes the excavation of approximately 400ft by 20ft of rock in an effort to accommodate traffic along western main road.
Head of the Western Roads Division, Mr. Michael Alphonse, described the work done over the weekend as “satisfactory.” He says motorists can expect delays in traffic as work continues throughout the week.
The Ministry apologizes for the inconveniences caused however this operation is necessary for the safety of the motoring public.
