Windwards starts 2009 season with a huge win

ST GEORGE’S, Grenada, – Windward Islands opener Devon Smith scored a superb double century on Saturday against Guyana, to help the Windward Islands defeat Guyana by an inning and 147runs.

 

Guyana batted first and scored 172 all out. The Windwards replied with 414 for 9 declared. Devon Smith making 212. Smith posted 50 run partnerships with Liam Sebastien,  Darren Sammy, and Skipper Rawl Lewis on his way to his double ton.

 

Guyana facing a huge first inning lead was bowled out before tea on the third day to give the Windwards an easy victory.
