The Grenada government will inject 3.5 million dollars into community projects in Grenada, one of which is the St. George’s Market Square project.
The money will come from Venezuela who’s Vice Minister for Latin and America and the Caribbean and Energy Maria Jacqueline Mendoza made the commitment during a meeting with Prime Minister Tillman Thomas.
The Vice Minister also informed the Prime Minister that Venezuela is awaiting a final report on the progress of work completed to date on the General Hospital before already secured funds will be made available to cover the rest of the work on the hospital.
She assured Prime Minister Thomas that her country is ready to assist Grenada with getting the report completed, so that the project can move to the next stage and the funds for the completion of the project can be released.
