Saturday 6th February: The Novotel London West Hammersmith International Centre came alive with the colours, parishes, towns and villages of Grenada, when close to five hundred nationals and friends gathered for a Grand Banquet and Dance to commemorate Grenada’s 36th Anniversary of Independence.
In his message, which was delivered by High Commissioner HE Ruth Elizabeth Rouse, the Prime Minister admonished Grenadians in the Diaspora to…”recommit themselves to building together, as one nation. This commitment, he said, must be anchored in a belief that we will achieve our dreams and aspirations as a people”.

Also in attendance was Grenadian-born member of the House of Lords, The Baroness Howells of St. Davids.
The High Commissioner took the opportunity to thank the groups and dedicated individuals who supported the event and those who contributed to raffle prizes, including the Grenada Board of Tourism UK, Golden Caribbean and Russ Fielden of True Blue Bay Resort who sponsored a trip for two to Grenada with 7 nights accommodation at the True Blue Bay Resort, respectively. Proceeds from the raffle will go towards a worthy cause in Grenada.
