WIA MAKES DONATION OF SCHOOL SUPPLIES TO FIRE VICTIMS OF OLEON DENNERY & LA GUERRE BABONNEAU

CASTRIES, Saint Lucia –  Monday, January 12, 2015 – The Women’s Arm of the United Workers’ Party, Women in Action (WIA) will make a presentation of school supplies to two young ladies who lost their dwelling by fire, over the Christmas and New Year’s Holidays at La Guerre, Babonneau and Oleon, Dennery respectively.
WIA donated hampers of grocery to ten (10) needy families in Dennery and also to the Oleon, Dennery fire victim on December 29th, 2014 and presented a hamper to the La Guerre Babonneau fire victim on January 3rd, 2015.
While this donation of school supplies is but a token, we understand the loss as mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts and women. WIA makes this donation knowing how important education is to children and while this will not erase the trauma and loss of all their personal belongings, we hope it will assist in bringing a small degree of normalcy to the children so they may continue their education uninterrupted.
The presentation of supplies will take place on Tuesday January 13th, 2015 at the offices of the Leader of the Opposition from 10:00 am.
