Project Cycle Management Training

 A 45 member team representing various Government Ministries and agencies are participating in a 12 week training course on Project Cycle Management.

The training is being conducted by Consultant/Team Leader of the European Union Funded project Dr. Andrew Jacque. Dr. Jacque is an Agricultural Economist with experience in lecturing post-graduate courses in economic development and policy analysis, appraising and implementing projects and working in an agricultural planning and policy environment.

A brief ceremony was held on Wednesday 26th March, 2008 at the Grenada National Stadium Media Centre to mark to commencement of the training. The course will comprise 12 full day sessions held once per week.

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Lands, Forestry, Fisheries, Energy and Public Utilities Mrs. Veda Bruno Victor, who declared the session open on Wednesday, placed special emphasis on the importance of lifelong learning, training and retraining of employees which she says is essential for the growth and development of an organization.

Mrs. Bruno Victor used the opportunity to thank the European Union and commended the participants for their interest, she says “this level of participation will ensure the availability of a large well diversified and widely dispersed pool of competent persons to contribute to national development efforts”.

Project Cycle Management is a major activity of the EU funded SFA 2003 project of Technical Assistance to the Ministry of Agriculture. The project of Technical Assistance is being implemented by Landell Mills LTD of the United Kingdom.
