China continues to show its support for Barbados‘ military with a donation of over BDS$900 000 worth of supplies. In a brief ceremony on Wednesday last, chief of staff of the Barbados Defense Force (BDF), Colonel Alvin Quintyne, and Permanent secretary in the Ministry of Defense also Security, Antoinette Williams, who thanked Chinese Ambassador Liu Huanxing. The supplies included generators, emergency lighting systems, tents, uniforms, furniture, laptops and freezers with the price tag totaling BDS$980 000. Liu said there would be another exchange programmed in March with a BDF officer training in China, and another programmed in August with a martial arts master from China training members of the BDF.
