On Saturday, August16, at the Fantazia 2001 Nite Club, Ranking Marvin successfully defended his title at the 13th Annual ‘Talk Ah Kaiso’ Competition. A spirited, comically smooth rendition, of his big carnival hit ‘Load It Up’ got the approval of the appreciative audience, and the nod from the judges who awarded him a score of 240 points which gave him his 3rd title, and his 5th ‘People’s Choice’ award.
Simple Dan another crowd favourite, finished in 2nd position just edging Black Wizard into 3rd place.
On speaking with the Spice Island Review, Ranking Marvin credited his latest success to serious dedication, careful preparation, and clinical execution of his craft, along with a burning passion for the performing arts.
