St. George’s, Tuesday 11, November, 2008, The Pink Ribbon Society of Grenada is the recipient of $5000.00. The presentation was made by Avon representative in Grenada, Mrs. Pat Henry McIntyre to Mrs. Catherine Cummings of the PRS.
In handing over the cheque which was raised during the Society’s Walk of Hope on Oct 19th 2008 from Grand Anse to Tanteen, Mrs. Mc Intyre said she was delighted to make this contribution on behalf of Avon to the Society and pledged Avon’s continued support towards the yearly walk.
In accepting the cheque, Mrs. Cummings spoke on behalf of the PRS, whose membership is happy to receive such a timely gift. This she said will assist the society in promoting its cause of helping women with Breast Cancer. She further stated that the society was very encouraged to see such a huge increase in the number of persons who attended the walk this year and made an appeal to women in Grenada to “get checked early”
The Avon Representatives sold Pink Ribbons, hand bands and T Shirts as part of their promotional activities leading up to the walk. .
