STATEMENT FROM GRENADA DISASTER MANAGEMENT OFFICIALS

Saturday, July 25, 2015

The Seismic Research Centre (SRC), University of the West Indies continues to record reduced activity levels at the Kick em’ Jenny under water Volcano.

Following the two small eruptions recorded, the SRC has reported significant reduction in volcanic earthquake activity up to 6:30 a.m., on Saturday, July 25th, 2015.

If this trend continues, NaDMA and the SRC will make the decision to lower the alert level. However, the Orange alert level remains in effect.

The general population is again reminded that there is no need for panic, and that people should go about their daily lives as normal.

Please be reminded that the official advisories on this matter, and all other disaster related matters will come directly from the National Disaster Management Agency (NaDMA).

NaDMA will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates.
