Prime Minister Mitchell hint of General Election

With Prime Minister Dr. Keith Mitchell hinting last weekend that he is ready to call general elections sometime after April 20, an opposition candidate says he is confident of defeating one of the Prime Minister key cabinet ministers.

Joseph Gilbert, who will be running for the National Democratic Congress in St. Patrick West, wants to unseat Anthony Boatswain, Minister of Economic Development.

Gilbert says his campaign team has been working consistently hard; with cost of living constantly on the rise, party leader Tillman Thomas and the NDC are re-committing to easing the burden on the poor, especially those living in the northern part of the country.

He says one of the NDC’s initiatives would be to offer services to people right in their community in the north.

This will be done through the establishment of a proposed government services’ department.
