Thursday February 28th 2008 saw the signing of an Investment Agreement between Government and Grenadian owned Investment Company, Grand Harbor Condominiums Inc for the development of a luxury condominium complex at Egmont Development, Calivigny St. George’s. Present at the occasion was the Minister of Economic Development and Planning, Minister Anthony Boatswain, the General Manager of the Grenada Industrial Development Corporation, Mrs. Sonia Roden, officials of the Corporation and the project sponsors. The event signifies Government’s efforts and commitment in encouraging and facilitating private sector development in Grenada in its continued pursuit of economic development. The company will establish a luxury condominium apartment complex comprising of fifty four (54) bedroom units, a restaurant & bar, mini-mart, tennis court, fitness room, water sport club and swimming pool and a waste disposal & sewage treatment plant. The project is supported through the grant of investment incentives provided to approved tourism developments. Upon completion in 2009, the project will not only create jobs for approximately seventy (70) persons but will also contribute greatly to increasing the country’s room stock through its commitment to utilize the facility as a tourism resort. The Government intends to continue encouraging developments of this nature which stand to greatly contribute to improving Grenada’s tourism product while at the same time creating economic benefits for the people of Grenada..
