Netherlands Insurance Company (WI) Ltd to support GBSS Alumni-NY

NEW YORK, September 29, 2012 – The 21st Annual Scholarship Award and Dinner Dance of the Grenada Boys’ Secondary School (GBSS) Alumni Association of New York is receiving further support from Corporate Grenada.

The Netherlands Insurance Company (WI) Limited is the latest Grenadian company to partner with the Alumni Association for the staging of the event in December.

The event, which will be attended by World and Olympic 400m champion Kirani James; 2012 NCAA Decathlon champion Kurt Felix and former Principal of the GBSS, Victor Ashby, will be held on Saturday December 8 at Antuns in Queens, New York.

“Individually they have all made tremendous contributions to the institution – GBSS in particular and Grenada in general,” said Richard Strachan, Managing Director of Netherlands Insurance Company (WI) Ltd and a himself a GBSS Alumni. “We are happy to support this recognition ceremony of these distinguished personalities, and by extension, the yeoman Service of the GBSS Alumni in New York” he said.

Kirani James, who is the Guest of Honour at this year’s Gala, will be joined by his fellow Olympian Kurt Felix and his former School Principal Mr Victor Ashby.
