RIVER SALLEE, St. Patrick’s: The main opposition National Democratic Congress observed a minute silence during its rally at River Sallee yesterday for dead political activist of the ruling New National Party. NDC officials invited the crowd to observe the moment and offered prayers for Denzil Modeste, who died suddenly on Friday of a suspected heart attack. An NDC official said despite being on opposite sides of the political fence the “Grenadian family” mourn the passing of a man who was dedicated to his cause, community and family.
Modeste worked with the public relations arm of the NNP. NDC’s General Secretary Peter David said he found Modeste an amiable man who understood that people can argue their different political positions without bitterness and anger.Denzil Modeste is the brother of Wayne, who is a member of the NDC. .
