Murder in Post Royal

May 23, 2008 – St. Andrew’s, Grenada – The usually quiet neighbourhood of Post Royal in St. Andrew’s woke up yesderday morning to be shocked with the grusome murder of a woman in her late 50’s.

Mrs. Joyce Hagley (Tillock), a former employee of George F. Huggns then Courts (Grenville) lived in this neighbourhood all her live.  The accused known as “Black” also in his late 50’s is known to be suffering with mental illiness.

Black and Joice are known to go out jogging every monring.  Yesterday morning when Joyce called Black he told her he is not feeling well so she went into his house to  check on him where he stabbed her with a cutlass in her stomach.

He then attempted to kill himself by cutting his throat with the same weapon.  He was taken to hospital where he is in stable condition guarded by the police.

It is not know if the two had any romantic relationship.  This is yet another of the many murders (all unrelated) plaguing the small island of Grenada.

Just earlier this week the Police Comissioner made an appeal to Grenadians to exercise restraint dealing with any dispute..
