MINISTER CURWEN ATTENDS 7TH OECS COUNCIL

The Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Culture, and the Performing Arts Hon. Dr. Clarice Modeste Curwen and Director of Tourism Mrs. Jocelyn Sylvester Gairy left the island on Thursday 10th April, 2008 to attend the 7th O.E.C.S. Council of Tourism Ministers meeting in Antigua and Barbuda. Some of the topics down for discussion at this meeting include the impact of climate change on the Caribbean tourism sector, update on increases in ultra-regional fares, O.E.C.S. preparation for the CARICOM Summit on Tourism in July, O.E.C.S. Tourism Work Programme 2008-2009 among other things. This meeting is an event that is paramount on the list of activities of the O.E.C.S. Tourism Council’s agenda and it attracts Ministers and Directors from all the O.E.C.S. countries. The Minister is expected back in the island on Friday 11th April, 2008. .
