The month of January is very special to Junior. Not only is it his birth-month but it is also the month of his most significant accomplishment, the month, 21 years ago, when he made his debut as a West Indies Test Cricketer.

To commemorate both events a Junior Murray Funday was hosted on Saturday January 18th, at the Old Trafford Playing Field in Tanteen.

All Junior Murray’s sporting interests were very well represented. Those interests include his recently launched Junior Murray Cricket Academy, his Upsetters Cricket Club and his ‘Move It to Lose It’ Exercise Club. Also attending the Funday were a plethora of former and present National Athletes, family members (including his Mother and Father) the parents of the participants of the Academy and members of the entertainment fraternity.

The day was a fitting tribute to one of Grenada’s true heroes, not only for his on-field accomplishments, but for his continued commitment to the development of cricket in Grenada, his interest in the well-being of young people and his devotion to country.

Special thanks to Geo. F. Huggins (through its Ribena Juice brand), Independence Agencies (through its Presidente Beer brand) and Bermudez Biscuits for their support in making the fun-day the success it was.
