Grenville Vale Tropical Botanical Gardens

The Grenada Cultural Foundation endorses and supports the initiative of Dr. Valma Jessamy, Director of the Grenville Vale Tropical Botanical Gardens.

Grenadians are urged to experience nature at its best- to return to Eden and participate in a healthy, natural environment on Saturday 21st June from dawn to dusk.

The Grenville Vale Tropical Botanical Gardens is set up on 26 acres of agricultural lands with the mission to promote environmental conservation and healthy living through action.

It is hoped that through events such as Saturday Markets, local will be educated on a range of relevant issues and encouraged to support local agriculture.

The Grenada Cultural Foundation reminds the General public, Parents, Teachers and Students that Emancipation Celebrations for 2008 are continuing as planned and we are seeking your support and participation.

This is the time when we remember and commemorate the experiences of our ancestors during slavery and their subsequent freedom.

The theme for this year’s Emancipation celebration is: “Remembering our Ancestors, preserving our freedom”.

Emancipation Day 2008 will take place on August 1 and will be observed in every parish.

Attached are the schedules of activities for schools; however a detailed general program will be released in due course.
