GRENADIAN ARTISTES TO STAGE BENEFIT CONCERT FOR HAITI

NEW YORK, Feb 5, 2010 – Grenadian artistes in New York will come together in a benefit concert to raise money to assist the people of Haiti following last month’s devastating earthquake.
 
 GRENCAP United, the umbrella body of Grenadian organisations in New York, is collaborating with the Grenada Consulate to stage this concert at the Nazareth High School in Brooklyn on Sunday February 21st.
 
 Various artistes will be performing including King Ajamu, Val Adams and the House of Fire Calypsonians, Dennison George, Quake USA, Poetry, Dancers, Singers, Comedy, Steelband, Quadrille Dancing, Big Drums from Carriacou among others.
 
 The Master of Ceremony will be veteran broadcaster Harold Pysadee with music provided by Dr. Wax and DJ Gus. A donation of $20.00 will accepted at the door.
 
 All proceeds from the concert will benefit the people of Haiti.
 
 Thousands of Haitians were killed and many more left injured and homeless when a 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck on January 12th.
