The theme of the meeting is, “Tripartism and Social Dialogue: Comparative Experiences in Dealing with Economic and Social Development Issues.’’

The Grenada delegation includes Labour Minister Glynis Roberts and Senator Chester Humphrey, who is attending in his capacity as General Secretary of the Caribbean Congress of Labour.

Other members of the Grenada team are Labour Commissioner Cyrus Griffith; Grenada Trades Union Council General Secretary, Ray Roberts; and Grenada Employers Federation President, Michael Philbert.

Sen. Humphrey is a panelist for a discussion on the subject, “Taking Advantage of Tripartism and Social Dialogue to Support Regional Integration and Enhance its Benefits.”

The issue of social dialogue is of critical importance to the region particularly in this challenging economic period, Sen. Humphrey said.

He added that Singapore, Mauritius and Barbados are examples of the success of social dialogue and its positive role in advancing economic development in the context of the “Decent Work Agenda’’ and sustainable jobs.
