Tuesday August 9, 2011 Former Minister of Health and shadow minister for health in the New National Party Hon. Dr Claris Modeste-Curwen, congratulates The Chancellor and faculty of theSt George’sUniversity for concluding an agreement that will pave the way for theGeneralHospital to become a teaching hospital.

 Dr Modeste-Curwen went to say, discussions were initiated to commence this process some five years ago and the New National Party welcomes the deepening of SGU’s involvement in theGeneralHospital, especially at this time when many deficiencies are negatively affecting patient care.

 The New National Party is aware she added that a tremendous amount of work and resources are needed to have this program up and running. However, the party is confident that with SGU’s expertise in the field of clinical medicine and the high level of professionalism which has become a hallmark of the university,Grenadais well placed to achieve this objective.
